Lately I have been so busy with work and I love it! Even though I feel like I don’t have time to do anything other then work and plan that’s okay because I know that things will soon slow down and I will just get to really enjoy my job.

2014 Reading

I finished The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery on August 30th. It was the only book I read in August. The book is about a man retelling his experience with the little prince. I thought that the book was lovely and I really enjoyed reading it. It was just so darling (weird word to use I know), but I enjoyed it. It was sweet and it really made me think. If you haven’t read the book I would definitely recommend you check-it out. It isn’t  a long read, but it is quite enjoyable.

I have been reading Gregory Maguire’s Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister since last month. I’m not sure why but this books is taking me a while to get through. I’ve been wanting to read a book by Maguire for some time now, I really want to read Wicked: The Life and TImes of the Wicked Witch of the West (yes because of the musical), but I’m not sure how I will enjoy it. When I saw this book at a thrift store for a pretty good price I bought it. I heard good things about the book so I thought would give it a try, I also really enjoy a good fairy-tale retelling.
I’m really hoping to finish up this book some time this month because even though the book and I had a rough start I am beginning to get into the the story and want to know how it unfolds in the end.

2014 Reading
So, last night I finished Landline by Rainbow Rowell. I have been waiting to read this book for awhile now and I finally got to it this past Tuesday. I absolutely could not put this book down for longer then an hour. The minute I put it down I had to restrain myself from picking it up again. That is probably why I ended up finishing it in just two days. I refused to go to sleep last night until I knew how the book ended. I thought that the book was amazing, obviously. I really liked Georgie and thought that she was a beautifully flawed character. She knew she wasn’t perfect, but she really wanted to change how she was for the better. I thought Neal was a great love interest and even though he wasn’t present for a lot of the novel, I still fell in love with him. I liked the flashbacks to the past, they really helped to better understand Georgie and Neal’s relationship. If you have not read Landline I highly recommend it because it is such a great read.

2014 Reading

Today I finished my current reread Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. Since this is the second time I’ve read Just Listen I already knew what to expect, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the read. Like the first time I read the book I really enjoyed the main character, Annabel. I felt like I could relate to her and her aversion to conflict. I liked how her character developed through the book. I also really liked Owen. I just thought that he was a great support for Annabel, even if he didn’t know it. In the end I enjoyed the reread just as much as the first time I read the book.
